Pastor Henderson Wheeler, Jr.
Pastor Henderson L. Wheeler, Jr. is the pastor of First Church of God in Christ, Moorefield, WV. Additionally, he also serves as pastor of First Church of God in Christ Piedmont, WV, under the leadership of the Greater West Virginia Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop C. D. Brown, Jr.
Pastor Henderson L. Wheeler, Jr. is a West Virginia native, born in Keyser, WV, to the late Bishop Henderson Wheeler, Sr. and Lady Everetta L. Wheeler. He is the oldest of their four children. Following his formative years of education in the Mineral County School system, he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in California. After receiving Christ at an early age, he later rededicated his life to Jesus Christ and joined a Bible-teaching, Spirit-led church. He met Delta Arnita Bradley, a long-serving member of that Church. They were later married by their Pastor, Bishop J. W. Macklin. God has blessed Pastor Wheeler and his wife, Delta, with two adorable children: daughter, Delta Janelle Wheeler, and son, Henderson Joshua Wheeler.
Pastor Henderson L. Wheeler, Jr. received his higher education in California while attending the College of Alameda, in Alameda, CA, Laney College, and the School of Urban Ministries Bible College, both located in Oakland, CA. He continued to further his education throughout his professional career, in the areas of Commercial and Residential Property Management, and later in the field of Security Management. In addition to serving as full time Pastor, he works full-time with the State of Maryland in the field of Building Security, and volunteers at work on the Religious Services Staff with the Chaplain.
Pastor Henderson Wheeler, Jr. rededicated his life to the Lord, was lead, attended and labored in the work of the ministry of the church, under the pastoral leadership of Bishop J.W. Macklin, 2nd Assistant Presiding Bishop of the Church of God in Christ, Jurisdictional Bishop of Nor Cal Jurisdiction and Senior Pastor of Glad Tidings Church of God in Christ, Hayward, California. Pastor Wheeler served and ministered under the direction of Bishop J. W. Macklin, first as a minister and later as an ordained elder, serving for 14 years of ministry at Glad Tidings Church International. Pastor Wheeler Jr. has served in several ministries, including Evangelism Outreach Coordinator, Prison Ministry, Education Department as an Adult Sunday School Teacher, Quarterly Bible Institute Teacher, New Members Orientation Ministry, Men’s Department Staff, Security Team Ministry, and the non-profit ministry, Nor Cal Community Development. Pastor Wheeler, Jr. has also served and assisted in other areas of ministry as directed, with a love for God and a passion for people, compelled to win the lost to Christ.
